Urban Clubs, Models, and Hip Hop Music 2008 pt. 1

The previous year has been an exciting one in entertainment. Here is some of our Favorites.
The Hottest Hip Hop albums released in 2008-'09 are as follows:
Lil' Wayne-The Carter 3
Tha Carter III cover
Arguably his best album so far, Lil Wayne's Tha Carter 3 is hot hot hot!!!
Tha Carter is the 6th studio album for him and the first in which all the singles achieved top-ten success. It is praised as the album that is catapulting Wayne into part of "rap's elite". As of this writing Tha Carter III has sold 3,070,600 copies domestically, and has been certified 3x Multi-Platinum.

T.I.-Paper Trail
Paper Trail cover
After a myriad of controversy and turmoil the self proclaimed "King of The South" released Paper Trail to the joy of his fans worldwide!! He began to write songs for the album as he awaited trial for federal weapons and possession charges. Unlike his past albums, he wrote his lyrics down on paper hence the name Paper Trail. Behind the powerhouse singles and the drama at this writing Paper Trail has sold nearly 2 million copies. After being sentenced to do a year for his weapons charges we are sending our best to one of the best and we look forward to his release!!

T.I. - Whatever You Like

Kanye West- 808's and Heartbreak Trail
808s & Heartbreak cover
808s & Heartbreak is the fourth album released by Kanye on November 24, 2008.
Made during at a time when multiple events that impacted Kanye and distressed him the previous year, 808s & Heartbreak marked a change for Kanye West lyrically, vocally, and production-wise. Although the initial reaction to his change was mixed, and I myself was critical towards his auto-tune singing, the album received positive reviews and was met by success on the charts. This is his third album to debut at number one on the charts. At this writing Kanye has sold 1.5 million in 24 wks. Not Bad!

Rick Ross-Deeper Than Rap (2009)
Deeper Than Rap cover
In the spring Miami's Own Rick "The Boss" Ross, embroiled in a rap fued with NYC powerhouse rapper 50 Cent, dropped his third studio album.
Behind two singles (and the beef) his album is arguablely not only his best work to date, but, also the best album so far this year.
Although sales are about 1/2 the way to the gold mark (245,000) his progress is strong. Behind a new video shot in ( get this) Medellin Columbia!!!! (Home of Pablo Escobar). Credibility issues stemming from photos and a diploma made public showing Ross worked as a Corrections Officer in Florida have not seemed to slow his popularity.
Here is Magnificen off the Deeper Than Rap album

Stay tuned for pt. 2
